Holly Clarke is a self-taught painter based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa New Zealand, creating sensorial tapestries that weave together emotions, memories and experiences inspired by the restorative power of nature.

Spending part of her childhood roaming freely across farmland, forests, rivers and gardens, she developed a deep connection to wild spaces and an appreciation for the innate knowledge of the natural world.

Her work explores how reconnecting with nature and our senses can help us find calm, presence and a deeper connection to ourselves.

Working with layered earth pigments, soft transitions of colour and velvety mark-making, Clarke creates contemplative works that blur the boundaries between inner and outer landscapes.

Rooted in nature and guided by the senses, her paintings invite moments of stillness, wonder and reconnection, encouraging us to soften, embrace our inner nature and find refuge in both the world around us and the world within.
